Chatting Zaman Dulu... Korang Penah Tak??

aku pun tak ketinggalan juga.. walaupun memang banyak kaki penipu kat dalam IRC neh.. konon perempuan padahal lelaki.. konon lelaki padahal memang lelaki pun.. biasanya ramai lelaki menyamar jadi perempuan.. hahaha.. sebab bila guna nickname lelaki pompuan tak nak layan.. so terpaksalah diorang buat macam tu...

memang berbezalah dengan teknologi sekarang.. medium mcm Myspace, Facebook, Friendster sebab kita boleh nampak dengan sape kita chat.. IRC ni sekadar nama je lah... lepas tu kalau orang membongak pun bukan kita tahu.. hehe.. so mmg banyak laa mangsa2 kena tipu..

aku penah laa jugak sekali dua berdating hasil usaha keras berkenalan dalam IRC.. hehe...

My Journey: Culzean Castle

I visit this castle on 2006, Culzean Castle is a castle near Maybole, Carrick, on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland. It is the former home of the Marquess of Ailsa, the chief of Clan Kennedy, but is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland. The clifftop castle lies within the Culzean Castle Country Park and is opened to the public. Since 1987, an illustration of the castle has featured on the reverse side of five pound notes issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Culzean Castle was constructed as an L-plan castle by order of the 10th Earl of Cassilis. He instructed the architect Robert Adam to rebuild a previous, but more basic, structure into a fine country house to be the seat of his earldom. The castle was built in stages between 1777 and 1792. It incorporates a large drum tower with a circular saloon inside (which overlooks the sea), a grand oval staircase and a suite of well-appointed apartments.

Dulu-dulu, mana ada Along Bukit Beruntung (90-an - present). Dulu-dulu, kalau nak pinjam bank - kena ada penjamin, kena letak sandaran - dan, orang Melayu ni tak ada tempat nak bersandar, apatah lagi tempat nak bergantung harap.

Abah nak bina rumah 'haram'. Tapi, macam orang-orang Melayu lain - abah miskin, tak cukup duit, pencen sol-jah berapa sen lah sangat. Mak kata, "Tu la... dulu suruh mintak Felda - tak mau! Kalau tak... kita dah senang dah, dah ada rumah sendiri dah!" Abah campak rokok Gold Leaf ke tanah, putungnya masih berasap, bengganglah tu, konon.

Nak Cite Pun Malas

Tuanku pun bertanya kepadanya, “Sampai mana pulak tahap malas tuan hamba?” Maka jawabnya, “Kalau patik makanpun, sampai ada orang tolong kunyahkan.”

Maka raja pun terdiam seketika. Tanpa disangka² datang seorang budak lelaki kepadanya sambil berkata,
“Patik adalah yang paling malas tuanku.” Raja pun bertanya, “Bagaimana pula tahap kemalasan kamu si budak?” Budak itu pun menjawab, “Nak cite pun malas.”

10sen pun nak menipu!!!

Alangkah best kalau aku ade sebijik macam ni kat rumah.. memang aku nak bawak then pegi tembak je apek kedai runcit yang bingai nak mampos..

ade ke patut kat depan aku pun dia nak pun menipu.. dia ingat aku budak sekolah kot? memang laa aku tukar syiling kat kedai dia banyak.. tapi tak payah laa tipu time kira duit syiling tu.. walaupun seposen jer.. tapi tipu tetap menipu.. kalau dengan aku dia tipu seposen dengan orang lain tak taw laa brapa untung dia dah buat dengan menipu cara macam tu...

nasib baik dari zaman bapak aku jadi customer atuk dia sampai atuk dia dah mati, ganti bapak dia.. then dia yang jaga kedai tu... kire dah macam regular customer dah family aku dengan apek ni... tapi tu pun nak menipu jugak.. adehh... tu lah ada kedai melayu.. berniaga macam nak tak nak... kejap buka kejap tutup... pastu barang itu takde ini takde...

heee... memang aku tembak jugak kedai apek ni...

Puasa.. dah tiba lagi ... Yeah!!

Bulan Puasa dah nak dekat!! tak berapa hari je lagi kita nak sambut puasa... macam biasa merata ceruk akan tumbuh bazar2 ramadhan macam cendawan lepas hujan..

Yang pastinya sekarang ni memang dah takde lagi dah ruang kalau baru berniat nak buka gerai di bazar ramadhan.. lupe je laa hasrat tu.. sebab rasanya yang dah dapat lesen berniaga di bazar pun apply hampir sebulan lepas..

aku rasa dah berapa kali puasa aku amatlah malas nak ke bazar ramadhan.. boleh bilang dengan jari lah berapa kali aku keluar ke bazar ramadhan ... tambah2 nak pegi sorang2 memang tak lah.. tak berapa nak suka sangat dengan keadaan sesak2 macam tu..

dah tu nak beli pun nak kena beratur panjang.. then berebut lagi.. macam tak cukup makan? mungkin aku lebih suka berbuka dengan cara paling simple.. kurma dengan kuih sikit kalau ada kuih lah.. then dengan air.. enough for me..

First Guerrilla Photography Exhibition!!

What is a Guerrilla Photography Exhibition?

A Guerrilla Photography Exhibition is a freestyle exhibition. There are no Curators involve in curating the exhibits from the Organisers. The Organisers will only provide an exhibition space and guidelines for the Exhibitors to exhibit their work. Each Exhibitor has to curate his/her own photos to be exhibited. By not having Curators to curate the exhibition, this freestyle exhibition is considered as a visual democracy akin to free speech. Every Exhibitor is given the right to choose whatever they want their viewers to see.

Why is there a need for this style of exhibition?

Nowadays, with the advance of the digital age, it has created so many photographers. Digital cameras are now within the reach of the masses. Most photographers would just shoot, save their images on hard drives, process some low resolution images to be shared on the internet.
There are however very few avenues to showcase their works in prints. It is a total new experience to take the images out of the computer into a physical print form.

The Organisers recognised the need for a venue to allow individuals to showcase their artistic expressions through the lens. What better avenue than an exhibition space at the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Where is the location?

The First Guerrilla Photography Exhibition in Malaysia is to be held at Avenue K. Avenue K is situated in a premier commercial location just across the road from the most recognisable iconic building in Malaysia, the Twin Towers of KLCC. The LRT (Light Rail Transit) Station is just two floors below the exhibition venue. You cannot get a better venue to express your artistic works for FREE.

When is it?

The Guerrilla Photography Exhibition is to be held from the 11th August to 15th September 2012. There will be four change overs during this period ie. we will have four sets of Exhibitors during this period.

  • The first period is from 11th to 26th August
  • The second period is from 27th August to 1st September
  • The third period is from 2nd to 7th September
  • The fourth and last period is from 8th to 15th September

Guidelines and briefing

1. Number of boards available for the exhibition is 50 boards (4ft wide by 8 ft high each)
2. Each Individual Exhibitor will be allocated 2 boards (8ft wide by 8ft high)
3. Group Exhibitors will be given more space according to their requirements
4. The minimum size of the printed photos is A4 or 8R. There is no limit in size for large prints. Anyone intending to exhibit prints smaller than the minimum size can do a collage that is at least 3ft x 3ft. or 1m. x 1m.
5. Exhibitors will have to curate their own photos. The organisers will not provide any curating services for your exhibition.
6. Exhibitors can exhibit photos of any photography genre. However, it would give more impact to the viewer if the exhibits subscribe to a certain theme.
7. The Organisers, in view of the sensitivity on certain issues in this multi-cultural country, have agreed to PROHIBIT the display of photos that are:-
  • a. On nudity
  • b. On political sensitive issues
  • c. Any other photos that are deemed to be sensitive or objectionable for any reason whatsoever.
  • d. The decision of the Organisers is final.

8. Exhibitors can exhibit about 10 nos. A4 size photos within the 8ft space allocated. We let you be the judge.
9. Every Exhibitor has to print his/her own photos and he/she has to physically be there to put it up. The cost of all prints and exhibition materials will be borne by the Exhibitors.
10. All photos are to be mounted onto the board with “blu tack” only. This will be provided by Schmidt Marketing. You can get it from Schmidt Marketing’s showroom.
11. Do not write or disfigure the boards. If you need to write, please stick a piece of blank paper (maybe A3 or A2 size onto the board for viewers to comment, etc.)
12. Each Exhibitor has to print his name clearly and paste it within the boards allocated.
13. Each Exhibitor may decorate his/her own boards to increase awareness and draw viewers to their displays.
14. This is a rotating exhibition. Each set of exhibits will be on the board according to the exhibition schedule.
15. Each set of exhibits will start as per schedule. A “the tarik” session will be held at 4pm during the rotation of exhibits. This “teh tarik” session will be sponsored by our sponsors.
16. You are free to invite your family, friends and guests to come for the “the tarik” session.
17. All Exhibitors will be given a scheduled time slot to display his/her pictures. At the end of the schedule time slot he/she has to take down his/her prints and another Exhibitor takes over the space.

If You Don't Prioritize Your Life, Someone Else Will

"A 'no' uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a 'yes' merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble." So said Mahatma Gandhi, and we all know how his conviction played out on the world stage. But what is less well known is how this same discipline played out privately with his own grandson, Arun Gandhi.

Arun grew up in South Africa. When he was a young boy, he was beaten up twice: once for being too white and once for being too black. Still angry, Arun was sent to spend time with his grandfather. In an interview with Arun, he told me that his grandfather was in demand from many important people, yet he still prioritized his grandson, spending two hours a day for 18 months just listening to Arun. It proved to be a turning point in Arun's life.

I had the opportunity to apply Gandhi's example of prioritization to my own life, hours before one of my daughters was born. I felt pressure to go to a client meeting the next day. But on this occasion, I knew what to do. It was clearly a time to be there for my wife and child. So, when asked to attend the meeting, I said with all the conviction I could muster...

"Yes."
